About

🔗
Research, background, and interests

I am an Associate Professor of Information, Complex Systems, and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. I received my Ph.D at Cornell University Center for Applied Mathematics (CAM), where I was advised by Jon Kleinberg. Before coming to UM, I was a postdoc at Northwestern University Institute on Complex Systems (NICO) working with Brian Uzzi. My research interests are in computational social science, network science, and the science of science. I study how network structure, identity, and relational context impact the production and dissemination of information, knowledge, culture, and behavior in online, scientific, and organizational settings.
